Allen, M.D., a member of its medical staff, has been elected as trustee for medicine on the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Board of Trustees. Dr. Allen is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist who is also fellowship trained in sports medicine. “Being on the board is a huge honor because ACSM is the largest sports medicine organization of professionals in the world,” said Dr. Allen. “As a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, ACSM was instrumental in shaping my career.”
ACSM has more than 50,000 members and certified professionals worldwide, and it’s dedicated to advancing and integrating scientific research to provide educational and practical applications of exercise science and sports medicine. “The greatest strength of ACSM is its members,” said Dr. Allen. “It has the unique ability to bring together the talents of a diverse group of professionals in the fields of sports medicine and sports science.
